The history of the development of the Raise3D brand dates back to 2015, when a team of graduates of prestigious universities founded a small research association in Shanghai. His primary goal was to actively pursue developments in the field of 3D printing and their implementation in the additive manufacturing industry. This is how the Duplicator 5 line of 3D printers was born, created by young specialists for Wanhao…. As part of cooperation with this company, the first version of IdeaMaker was also written, a specialized software widely known to the maker community today. After the Duplicator 5 line was recognized by many technoportals as one of the best at that time, the team decided not to stop there and release a series of printers under its own brand. For this, at the end of 2015, a crowdfunding campaign was launched on KickStarter, which later became one of the most successful in the 3D printing segment. In a relatively short time, almost $ 450,000 was raised, and in early 2016, the first 3D printers were sent to the happy owners.

Our company was one of the first in Russia to receive a Raise3D N2 Plus 3D printer. We only had a few days to test it before it went to the client. We bring to your attention a small overview based on our impressions.

The company has developed its own IdeaMaker slicer especially for Raise3D 3D printers. It contains a large number of settings and has an intuitive interface.
It is noteworthy that this software has two modes: simple (for beginners) and advanced (for advanced users).
At the first glance at the 3D printer, the large touchscreen immediately catches the eye. During the printing process, all important information will be displayed on it.

The built-in battery charge indicator is displayed in the upper right corner. If the power supply to the 3D printer is suddenly cut off, after turning it on, it will be able to continue printing from the same place thanks to the backup power supply.
On the right side of the 3D printer case, there is a slot for a memory card and many ports for connecting external media.
Anyone who has worked with 3D printers with a large build area knows about such a problem as table deflection when heated. The manufacturer Raise3D N2 Plus took this moment into account, reliably fixing the table at once in nine points.
There is a special screw for height adjustment. With it, you can quickly adjust the position of the table relative to the print head.
There are two large diameter screws on both sides of the Z axis. In addition to ball screws, shafts are located in the corners. This design minimizes the chances of shifting or skewing the table during printing.
The extruder is tall and rather massive, which allows the 3D printer to work with a wide range of plastics, from ABS to flex.
Heat dissipation takes place using heat dissipating plates and two fans on the sides. When printing PLA with plastic, this approach to the organization of cooling will be an indisputable advantage.
Unfortunately, we did not have time to test the compatibility of the 3D printer with all types of materials, but we were able to appreciate the PLA plastic printing.
Both one-color and two-color printing were at their best.
IdeaMaker software turned out to be well structured and easy to understand. Before running the test, we deliberately reset all settings to default to see the basic result.
A cocoon was waiting for us on the table, almost completely repeating the shape of the printed model.
Opening the cocoon, we got to the model. The end result pleasantly surprised us.

The 3D printer has demonstrated a good balance of print speed and quality. Versatility, reliable design and quality software make Raise3D N2 Plus one of the best 3D printers in its price segment. Quiet operation of the device was a nice bonus.
