The history of the development of the Raise3D brand dates back to 2015, when a team of graduates of prestigious universities founded a small research association in Shanghai. The team wanted to actively pursue developments in the field of 3D printing and their implementation in the additive manufacturing industry. This is how the Duplicator 5 line of 3D printers was born.
After the Duplicator 5 line was recognized as one of the best at that time, the team decided to release a series of printers under their own brand, Raise3D. The team launched a KickStarter campaign in 2015, which later became one of the most successful in the 3D printing segment. In a relatively short time, almost $ 450,000 was raised. In early 2016, the first Raise3D printers were sent to the happy owners.

Raise3D N2 3D printer runs on the propritary IdeaMaker slicer. The slicer contains a large number of settings and has an intuitive interface.
The slicer software has two modes: simple (for beginners) and advanced (for advanced users).
Appearance
At the first glance, you will notice the large touchscreen on the Raise3D N2 3D printer. During the printing process, all important information will be displayed on it.
The built-in battery charge indicator is displayed in the upper right corner. If the power supply to the 3D printer is suddenly cut off and then on, the printer will resume printing from the same place thanks to the backup power supply.
On the right side of the 3D printer case, there is a slot for a memory card and many ports for connecting external media.
Mechanics
Anyone who has worked with 3D printers with a large build area knows about problems such as the printbed warping when it’s heated. To prevent this problem, the Raise3D N2 Plus printbed is fixed in nine points.
There is a special screw for height adjustment. With it, you can quickly adjust the position of the table relative to the print head.
There are two large diameter screws on both sides of the Z axis. In addition to ball screws, shafts are located in the corners. This design minimizes the chances of shifting or skewing the table during printing.
The extruder is tall and rather massive. This allows the 3D printer to work with a wide range of plastics, from ABS to flex.
Heat dissipation takes place using heat dissipating plates and two fans on the sides. When printing PLA with plastic, this approach to the organization of cooling will be an indisputable advantage.
Unfortunately, we did not have time to test the compatibility of the 3D printer with all types of materials. However, we tested it with PLA filament.

Both one-color and two-color printing were at their best.
The IdeaMaker software is well-structured and easy to understand. Before running the test, we deliberately reset all settings to default to see the basic result.
A cocoon was waiting for us on the table, almost completely repeating the shape of the printed model.
Opening the cocoon, we got to the model. The end result pleasantly surprised us.
